The Power of IP Rights

Posted on

How do innovative companies secure increased revenues of 20% per employee?

As a new report by the EU IP Office and the European Patent Office explains, fewer than 9% of European SMEs rely on intellectual property rights (IPRs), but this subset of companies appears to generate 68% higher revenues per employee than SMEs without IPR portfolios.

Conclusion - to consider IP is to capitalise on the opportunity to open doors, have conversations and smooth the pathway forwards with funders and investors. An understanding of IP, and how it can support business models, provides gravitas and weight to your offering.

Creating an IP strategy and protecting IP can do even more, as shown by this report. It is clear that IP is a key part of the start-up and growth processes of businesses.
